The Irish company, part of Murdock Builders Merchants Group, has been part of some of the country’s most prestigious contracts and recently upgraded its Warrenpoint sawmill to a purpose-built three-acre factory to meet demand for custom-moulded products in hardwood and softwood.
Cranwood said the wide variety and dimensions of stock required an efficient operation to offload, transport and despatch the 2,000m3 of material stored in the mill.
The first 4-way Combilift was bought in 2002 with two more added five years later. The company now operates three 4-tonne C4000 models and one 4-way sideloader.
"We work our fork lifts hard here," said operations manager Paul Smyth. "They are on the go constantly from 7am to 5:30pm, and it is testament to the quality of the machines that our first Combilift, with more than 11 years’ service, is still as good as the newer ones when it comes to performance and reliability."
