The organisation, whose remit is to expand offshore export opportunities for Canadian wood products, released a statement on May 23 to outline its narrowing of focus in the UK. The change takes effect on July 31.
Canada Wood, via its UK contractor The Wood Consultancy, has provided market development and technical services on behalf of its Canadian membership for the last 11 years.
"The importance of the European market to the Canadian forest products industry continues to be recognised, hence the ongoing in-market technical representation," said Canada Wood.
John Park, director of the UK office in Farnborough, Hampshire will stay on as a consultant, providing support to Canadian companies on EU market access issues, as well as providing technical support and sourcing information to specifiers and wood users.
