The British Woodworking Federation is stepping up its marketing of timber windows with the publication of a brochure and directory targeted at housebuilders, builders merchants and architects.

Some 20,000 copies of the brochure detailing the advantages of specifying timber windows, and a similar number of directories listing joinery manufacturers signed to the Timber Window Accreditation Scheme, have been produced. The publications tie-in with the BWF’s advertising campaign for timber windows.

BWF spokesperson Brian Corthine said: ‘We realise that what we are spending is not large in terms of what the PVCu companies spend on marketing but it is big for us. The campaign is costing £100,000-plus.’
