The event opens with an official engagement at the House of Lords for supporters and partners to review the 12 months since the first Grown in Britain (GiB) week of events, which was quickly expanded to an annual event.
GiB was started following a government recommendation for a wood industry action plan.
Confor is hosting a one-day conference on October 14 with the Welsh Forest Business Products Partnership aimed at the long term future for softwood supplies in Wales.
On Wednesday there is a visit to the University of East Anglia Enterprise Centre to view the Morgan Sindall construction site for the “almost nil carbon building” built from timber from the Forestry Commission’s Thetford Forest.
Later in the week there is an open day at Hooke Park, the home of the Architectural Association woodland site in Dorset, the National Wood Fuel Conference at Denbies Estate, and events at Vastern Timber.
