The Pascual Vinuesa sawmill, in Rubena, Spain, significantly reduced building and auxiliary costs for its new timber warehouse, OHRA said, as no additional supporting elements were required. The timber roof beams were provided by Pascual Vinuesa and integrated into the racks.
The rack system comprises cantilever racks with arms hung horizontally into the stands rather than bolted or welded. The arms can be adjusted without the use of tools to alter storage capabilities.
The self-supporting warehouses can be extended with optional features such as traveling cranes, access doors and guttering.
OHRA has also equipped the new warehousing for Holz Roeren in Germany with pallet and cantilever racks for sawn timber and board materials following a fire in 2012 that destroyed large parts of the site.
Two new warehouses contain the entire range of products on a covered surface of 12,000m2. There is 20km of storage up to 10.5m high. The company accesses items with Bulmor four-way sideloaders.
