Exports in October were down 5% compared with the same month last year.

Total sawn and planed exports to the UK, Sweden’s largest export market, were up 4.9% during January-October to 2.325 million m3, with planed volumes up 7.2% to 1.459 million m3 and sawn pine volumes up 2.4% to 509,600m3. Sawn spruce exports reduced 1.6% to 352,700m3.

A 12.7% decrease in sawn and planed volumes (to 1.091 million m3) was seen in Sweden’s second biggest market – Egypt – with the main product sawn pine seeing a 7.8% reverse to 871,900m3. Swedish sawn and planed exports to China grew 15.6% to 461,000m3, while Saudi Arabia saw 26.9% growth to 352,000m3 and the US witnessed an 89.8% rise to 210,900m3.
