The company was set up in the 1930s but despite that long history in Scunthorpe the company has ambitious plans to expand to five branches in the next five years and BMCo’sMD Duncan Thomson believes that joining NBG will be vital to the success of that plan.

“Joining NBG will help us take the business to another level and it feels like NBG is the natural progression for our company,” he said.

BMCo’s mother branch is based in Scunthorpe with satellite branches in Hull and the latest edition of Barbot Hall Industrial Estate in Rotherham.

“We are delighted to welcome Builders Merchants’ Company to NBG,” said Nick Oates, NBG MD. “We only accept applications from financially stable, well-managed, independently-owned merchants and the company matches this profile perfectly. I know that the Builders Merchants’ Company has a strong and strategic growth plan and I agree with Duncan that joining NBG will make a significant contribution to that growth.”
