Investment company Cambium Global Timberland Ltd has bought 3,200 acres of radiata pine plantation in New Zealand for £2.26m.
The mid-rotation forests, located in the country’s South Island, are positioned to serve Asian log markets and harvesting is due to begin in 2020.
Cambium says it will seek FSC certification for the forests.
