The conference will bring together wood scientists, wood technologists and businesses from all areas of the timber industry. The primary aim is to showcase the latest developments in timber research in the UK and to prompt discussion on new products, processes and concepts and their potential within the UK.
The two-day event will feature papers from across the spectrum, including grading; the effect of tannin and heat treatment on the properties and efficacy of boron-treated wood; laser incision of wood; the environmental impacts and benefits of using timber in construction; and opportunities for coppiced sweet chestnut wood in local architecture.
The conference, which is sponsored by Canada Wood and TFT Woodexperts, will be held at the IOM3 headquarters in Euston Road, London. For the full programme and to register, visit https://www.iom3.org/wood-technology-society
