North-east timber merchant and importer MH Southern and Company Ltd has installed Stenner Tandem ST100 resaws to grow sawn timber output and meet PUWER regulations.
Jarrow-based Southerns said the ST100 resaws, which replaced an ageing Stenner 48 unit, have reduced sawn timber waiting lists drastically.
The company has invested abut £45,000 in the resaws and ancillary developments.
Nottingham-based AL Dalton Ltd, main distributors of Stenner stand-alone resaws, supplied the units. It has also previously supplied a Wadkin XE six-head high speed planing and moulding machine to Southerns.
Daltons recommended the ST100 resaws based on the higher production required by Southerns, plus the optimum use of floor space.
