Boise Cascade Company’s third quarter net profits fell to US$28.5m from US$35.2m a year ago.
The company lost about US$6m through loss of production following recent hurricanes in the Gulf Coast area.
Boise Cascade’s wood products division saw its profits slump to US$34.7m from US$48m in 2004, due to lower prices for plywood, particleboard and lumber.
The company’s overall sales were US$1.6bn, about the same as last year.
