“Lunawood achieved considerable international growth in 2020, with over 13% increase in our turnover,” said Lunawood CEO Arto Halonen.

“We also managed to break records by a magic number – 10, we sold more than 10,000m3 of Lunawood ThermoWood per month for the first 10 months of the year. In addition, total sales of Lunawood ThermoWood plastic composite products broke records.”

The company, which has an annual revenue of €55.5m and production capacity of 155,000m3, said it would carry out an ambitious investment programme during the spring of 2021.

For its factory in Kaskinen, it will invest in a new thermo treatment kiln, a sticking and stacking plant and a sprinkler system covering the whole factory area.

Production at the factory in Iisalmi will return to normal once the company has repaired a kiln damaged by fire last September.

It will also replace another kiln there and install a sprinkler system. Lunawood is a founding member of the International Thermal Wood Association and employs 125 people, with its head office in Lahti.
