Building activity is forecast to accelerate this year and next, according to a new report.

Construction Forecasting & Research’s Construction Outlook to 2002 finds that the construction industry’s output grew by 1% during 2000 and that it will move ahead by 2.5% in both 2001 and 2002.

A sharp rise in infrastructure spending is thought likely to outweigh a forecast decline in housing output and a weak industrial and commercial sector over the next two years.
