Stricter health and safety regulations are fuelling new machinery demand at Gerry Lynch Woodworking Machinery.

The Lancashire-based company, which has traditionally concentrated exclusively on pre-owned machinery sales, has seen new machinery sales grow to 50% of turnover over the past two years. It offers a range of window and door making machinery to the joinery sector.

Proprietor Gerry Lynch said: ‘If someone had said two years ago that in 2001 I would be selling new machinery I would have laughed at them. Changing legislation and the technology available in new machines is changing the market for us.’

The company’s agencies include New Vertongen of Belgium and Magic of Italy.
