The Port of Wisbech was due to re-open this week after salvage operators removed the last section of a ship which had been blocking the river since December.
The ship broke its back while trying to turn and had to be cut into three before it could be removed.
The port was effectively cut off and vessels carrying cargoes including timber had to be diverted to King’s Lynn and Felixstowe.
The port operators are to hold a meeting with port users to discuss the problems the incident created and opportunities for the future.
