Gloucester-based Partly Pine is doing 75% less sanding and finishing following the installation of a new Onsrud 2003 inverted pin router.
Until the installation by SMS Machinery, the company had to out-source CNC to a subcontractor.
Vacuum holding of the narrow frame sections is not always easy with conventional and CNC routers. But with the Onsrud routers – where the pattern is mounted on top of the workpiece – much smaller items can be held on vacuum jigs.
The Partly Pine operators are now able to get maximum use from pine boards by using concentric off-cuts for smaller frames and products.
