The Tropical Forest Trust has been recognised for its environmental work by the World Wide Fund for Nature with a ‘gift to the earth’ award in London.

TFT manager Björn Roberts said the trust was dedicated to increasing the area of forests being managed to FSC standards.

The award was presented by Kim Carstensen, CEO of WWF Denmark, who said: ‘Initiatives like the TFT are crucial for the further expansion of well-managed forests in the tropics.’

At the same ceremony, the inaugural Michael Jourdain TFT scholarship was presented to Antwi Oduro from Ghana. He will undertake an MSc at the Oxford Forestry Institute.
