Another 20 workers have been made redundant at woodworking machinery firm Wadkin.

A total of 170 jobs from the original 280-strong workforce have now been lost at the Leicester-based manufacturer since it went into administrative receivership in March.

William Tacon of receivers Ernst & Young hinted that a buyer may be found soon. He said: ‘There is interest in the business as a going concern.’

Wadkin is still completing business orders.

The century-old company had been labouring under a £5m debt burden before calling in Ernst & Young to rescue the business.
