The Malaysian timber industry is gearing up for its third timber marketing convention.
To be held in Kuala Lumpur from September 24-25 next year, the event will cover trends in the different sectors of the Malaysian timber industry, applications of Malaysian wood in interior design and the country’s sustainable forest management activities.
Suria Zainal of the Malaysian Timber Council said at a London reception that the convention was an opportunity to ‘tell the world they can do business with Malaysia with peace of mind’.
The emphasis in the interior design session will be the use of lesser known species. Ms Zainal said it would be complemented by a show apartment of seven rooms featuring different timber applications.
The previous Malaysian event drew visitors from 20 countries.
