Timber stocks have been increased by more than 25% at a north London timber yard since the acquisition of a multi-directional Sidetracker reach truck.

Lawsons (Whetstone) Ltd, which operates on a restricted site, has undertaken a major reorganisation which involved building a new warehouse and installing racking in the outside yard. Area manager Jim Murphy said the Sidetracker allows the space to be used more efficiently.

The Sidetracker, which replaced a conventional front-loading counterbalance truck, has allowed aisles and turning areas in the yard to be reduced and more racking to be installed.

The Sidetracker can travel in any direction and turn through 360O on the spot. Load capacity is 3,000kg.
