A Hapfo AP7000 CNC copy lathe is expanding the workload, product range and profit margin of Norwich woodturner Bruce Williams.
The £55,000 Hapfo, featuring a swivelling cutter head, Hydro King twist unit, built-in milling, laser scanning and MegaCAD software, enables Mr Williams to work large timber stock for making four-poster bed legs or decorative pillars up to 300mm in diameter right down to 6mm knobs.
The main feature that sold the Hapfo is its swivelling cutter head which can cut deep-sided coves or square shoulders runing into beads without additional expensive tooling.
