The Wood Bureau is pushing ahead with its campaign to create a new generation of wood industry professionals and wood consumers.

A forum will be held this spring to discuss a development proposal for the organisation. Wood Bureau volunteer John Park said: ‘The proposal outlines a strategy that is imaginative, generic and complete.

‘Its philosophy is one of industry-wide, long-term co-operation; its continued success is dependent on financial support from all wood-reliant companies, just as they are dependent on wood, a renewed acceptance of wood and a clawing back of lost markets. This is not a short term issue.’

Mr Park is also continuing his campaign to try and get more timber companies to sign up to the Wood Bureau. He said: ‘As a conservative estimate the wood reliant sectors are comprised of over 20,000 companies. Just £100 from each would realise £2m per annum.’
