A national campaign across 1,500 builders merchants to promote the correct use of fire doors and doorsets is underway.

Launched by the British Woodworking Federation (BWF), the campaign gives information about what customers neeed to look for in door leaves, glazed apertures and glass openings, and how they should comply with the BWF-CERTIFIRE Scheme and the new building regulations.

BWF Scheme product manager Adam Frankling said: ‘Now the new building regulations are in place it is essential builders and installers buy products they know are in compliance. With the labelling system that is at the heart of the BWF-CERTIFIRE Scheme, they know immediately that what they are buying is fully approved and legal.’

BWF has also issued 15,000 pocket guides to counter staff which answer frequently asked questions.

  • The BWF is holding its Members’ Day at the Carling Suite, Leicester City Football Club on March 21.
