The US-based Southern Pine Council (SPC) reports growing Irish interest in American style decking and pressure-treated southern pine.
The SPC recently embarked on a series of seminars in Ireland to promote the species. About 40 decking and landscape professionals attended the first event in Dublin.
Strong economic growth and a buoyant housing construction market are the main factors why the SPC believes Ireland is becoming the next ‘boom’ market for timber decking.
The SPC intends to increase promotional and educational events to compete with Ireland’s domestic spruce.
