The results of independent softwood tests carried out by TRADA Technology on American southern pine are now available.
Eddie Pearce, European marketing director at American Softwoods, said: ‘We have taken the results of the tests and summarised them in a report. It explains what tests were done and which standards were used.
‘Copies of the report are available from us and we will be sending some out to the various wood organisations across Europe.’
The TRADA tests were for impact bending and surface hardness. Mr Pearce says they finally prove that American southern pine is the strongest softwood with excellent resistance to indentation and an all round timber ideal for both internal and external structures.
