Finland’s Schauman Wood Oy, in conjunction with Russian company Novgorodlesprom, plans to build a e16.3m plant in Russia’s Novgorod region to produce thin birch veneer sheets.
Annual capacity is forecast to be about 7,500m3 of veneer and turnover will amount to e12m. The veneer will be used as a finishing material in the production of top of the range furniture.
