Peter Smith Ltd, of Bradford, has taken delivery of the 21st Centauro T90 CNC lathe to be sold to the UK and Ireland.
The machine was supplied by UK agent JJ Smith, of Liverpool. It enables the company to design and produce in-house turnings for garden furniture and features .
The Centauro has a short set-up time as no sample or templates are required, makint it suitable for short runs of components for just-in-time production.
The machine is programmable via its CT CAD software .
The majority of the 21 T90s delivered so far have gone to wood turners, joinery and furniture manufacturers.
