The Woodworking Machinery Suppliers Association (WMSA) is in a ‘robust position’ in line with budgeted expectations, members were told at the annual general meeting held at Breadsall Priory, Derbyshire.

Chairman Doug Shopland said benefits for members had been further improved during the year. They now received free grant searches on behalf of customers, on-tap employment law advice, mediation support, assistance to attend or exhibit at some worldwide exhibitions, health and safety advice and Woodmex benefits.

Mr Shopland said the first WMSA ‘Cutting Edge’ award, due to be presented later this year, was expected to make a significant contribution to training prospects within the industry and an extensive seminar programme is to be announced.

WMSA has also obtained status as an SESA funding sponsor for some key exhibitions in 2002/03 on behalf of the Department of Trade and Industry.
