UPM-Kymmene has added a Finnish three-layer pine flooring to its WISA product range.
Produced by North 3-Tec Oy, the middle lamella of the product is glued crosswise to the direction of the top and bottom layers. Tests conducted by the Technical Research Centre of Finland have shown board warping to be virtually non-existent resulting, the manufacturers say, in a silent wooden floor.
Called WISA-Pro North Floor, the product is manufactured from close-grain pine harvested in Northern Finland. The certified raw material is provided by UPM-Kymmene’s sawmills.
Erkki Pietikäinen, business manager for UPM-Kymmene’s planed and profiled products, said: ‘Due to a tongue and groove structure on all sides of the panels, virtually nothing goes to waste.’
