A dozen members of the Scottish Parliament were given an account of forestry industry concerns when meeting a Timber Growers Association (TGA) delegation in Edinburgh last week.
The TGA underlined the industry’s need for ‘consistent, long-term government support if it is to survive in a globally competitive market’.
The delegation emphasised the ‘significant opportunities’ offered by forestry in terms of ‘genuine sustainable rural development’ in Scotland.
