Cycling, orienteering and shooting are three challenges on offer to participants of the UPM-Kymmene Tree Aid Challenge to be held near Lockerbie, the venue of the Association of Professional Foresters (APF) event on September 25- 27.

It will raise funds for Tree Aid – the charity which works to reverse environmental degradation and poverty through community forest projects in Africa.

Organiser Melanie Siggs of Tilhill Economic Forestry Ltd said: “The competition is open to individuals as well as teams of three. There will be a one hour ‘trailquest’ type mountain bike competition, a ‘score’ orienteering course and target shooting. Individuals can participate in one or all of the activities and teams of three must enter one member per activity.”

The event is sponsored by UPM-Kymmene but further sponsors are required. Further information and entry forms are available from adminscscotland@upm-kymmene.com or telephone 01387 711211.
