Specialist laminate products manufacturer J Kelly Laminates has upgraded to a new Striebig Automat III vertical panel saw after more than 10 years of using reconditioned models.
The machine, supplied by Leicester-based TM Machinery Sales, has boosted efficiency at the small family-run business in Morecambe, which produces laminated flat bonded panels and post formed architectural components for a variety of applications.
The Automat III has a frame size of 5300mm x 2200mm allowing even the largest panels to be cut, and a digital measuring system with an accuracy of 1/10mm.
It is being used to cut sheets of laminated face material, chipboard, plywood and MDF to required sizes. With an 80mm maximum depth of cut, the machine’s operator can put up to 10 laminated sheets on the frame at a time.
Striebig prices range from £7,000 to £25,000.
