The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is to establish its new headquarters in Bonn, Germany, and create regional offices in America, Africa, Asia and Europe.

The FSC decided to move from its current headquarters in Oaxaca, Mexico to improve communications and strengthen links with key target markets.

The organisation said it will also enable closer co-operation on issues like policy development between the FSC’s 28 national initiatives.

The move was recommended as part of a decentralisation of services, responsibilities and authority throughout the FSC network.

The regional office for the Americas will be based at Oaxaca, but locations for the others have not been announced.
