TRADA has chosen ESP’s ‘xdirectory’ software to ensure its askTRADA website, being launched in October, will be swift and easy to navigate.

The software forms part of the £500,000-plus investment in the website, which TRADA says will provide an “unrivalled” breadth and depth of practical and technical information on timber.

Xdirectory has been integrated into the IT system at TRADA’s Hughenden Valley headquarters, to dovetail with the website being built by consultant NetConstruct.

Head of information at TRADA Jeremy Vibert said: “It allows us to index the information easily, producing many different views and filters. Users can search intuitively for the specific information they need.”

The website will offer a range of services including ‘virtual’ consultancy, access to codes and standards, a CAD library and an engineering software toolbox.
