Södra has completed its takeover of sawmilling group AB Geijertra following approval by Swedish competition authorities.
The group includes Geijer Timber AB which has four sawmills and the interior wood group Gapro AB with five facilities. Geijertra recorded net sales of SKr1.1bn in 2001.
Geijer Timber and Gapro will form part of the newly-created company Södra Wood, which also comprises Södra Timber and Södra Building Systems.
Meanwhile, Swedish processed timber producer AB CF Berg & Co, is to buy half the shares of forest products trading company Varendskog AB from the Geijer Group.
