Howarth Timber has completed its New Holland saw line with the installation of a handling system from Almab.
The £180,000 investment follows an earlier outlay in a Waco Maxi saw, which is achieving speeds of up to 200m/min.
Almab’s equipment upgrades the handling from a Stenner twin resaw. It allows resawn timber to be conveyed to the Waco or be stacked in packages for use by other machines, or to allow different sizes from the resaw to be stacked separately.
Howarths’ brief to Almab included the need for the installation to take place mostly over weekends and during holidays to allow production to continue during the working week.
The line has a totally automated infeed system, capable of handling three pieces from the resaw at speeds up to 70m per minute.
