The success of a pilot trussed rafter training course course earlier this year has led the Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) to develop the initiative for the industry.
The original course organised by Buckingham Chilterns University College and TRA covered a broad spectrum of issues from forest to end product, theory of structures, structural timber design through to the analysis and design of trussed rafters.
Feedback has prompted TRA to restructure the course into two modules – one for newcomers to the industry and the other to give more detailed information to those directly involved with truss design.
“By providing members with an independent training forum, they will be well placed to serve the needs of customers in the future.” |

TRA secretary Peter Grimsdale says both modules are already over-subscribed for the autumn. He added: “On a wider scale, we are confident that by providing members with an independent training forum, they will be well plaaced to serve the needs of our customers in the future.”
