BM TRADA Certification has been awarded full Notified Body Status for the CE marking of wood-based panel products and lightweight timber joists.
Both BM TRADA and sister company Chiltern International Fire hold a range of Notification – both full and provisional – for certification and testing of construction products of all kinds.
The appointment of Notified Bodies is a step towards CE marking – forecast to become compulsory by virtue of customer demand for virtually all construction products under the Construction Products Directive (CPD).
However, to use CE marking, manufacturers will have to meet tasks as defined in the ‘harmonised’ European standard (hEN) or European Technical Approval (ETA). Some of these tasks must be carried out by a Notified Body.
“CE marking will become a common sight and BM TRADA has positioned itself to meet the demand as it grows.” |
