West Sussex-based Mike Richards, formerly of importing company Shelley Marketing, has teamed up with US company All Dimensions Inc to import a new range of hardwood products to the UK.
Mr Richards says this is the first time the company from Indiana has imported to the UK – and a full range of American hardwoods in lumber, dimension stock and cabinet doors using oak, maple, cherry and other hardwoods is covered.
‘The need of UK manufacturers for high quality timber in dimension stock and doors at a competitive price was highlighted at the recent ASFI show’, said Mr Richards, adding: ‘The demand took us by surprise.’
He says All Dimensions Inc has a rigorous quality control service at its American mills which eliminates expensive wastage in the UK, therefore enabling British companies to make more exact costings.
All products are shipped directly from the mill in the US to the customer.
