The Woodworking Machinery Suppliers Association (WMSA) has beaten more than 350 contenders to win Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) European funding for its 2003 seminar programme.

The €46,000 grant will enable WMSA to deliver 15 seminars on PUWER, dust extraction and general machinery installation.

WMSA finance director John Smith-Bodden described it as “a magnificent opportunity to gain wider exposure for the Association’s seminar programme”.

The success is part of the WMSA’s strategy to seek government agency partnerships where opportunities exist.

The Association is also part of the Com-Met 2005 project of which 13 other key trade associations are members. Benefits to WMSA members include e-business support, marketing seminars and industry statistics, and membership has already led to support for the re-developed WMSA web site.

Internationally, the WMSA has obtained Support for Exhibitions and Seminars Abroad (SESA) funding for qualifying members and non-members. The next supported exhibition is Ligna 2003 and details are available from the WMSA.
