Akzo Nobel coats Homes for Change
Architects have specified Akzo Nobel Woodcare coatings for timber windows at an innovative Manchester mixed-use housing/office development.
Sikkens Cetol Novatech/Novatop woodstain was used at the six-storey Homes for Change block, Hulme, which comprises offices and workshops beneath 25 flats, partly clad in western red cedar.
Hulme tenants came together in 1990 to establish the Homes for Change concept after being faced with the demolition and redevelopment of their homes. A housing co-operative, it aims to provide low cost social housing managed and run by the tenants.
