Technical and manufacturing teams at Jeld-Wen UK Ltd’s Sheffield laboratories have spent months re-testing and refining standard internal moulded wood fibre doors (die form) to improve resistance to wet and cold conditions.

The company says tests simulated the worst moisture conditions on UK building sites and yielded 100% pass rates with no distortion.

Refinements including a specially developed undercoat have now been introduced as standard to the collection, part of the John Carr brand, to meet the new weather-resistant specifications.
