SCA Timber UK is doubling the size of its under-cover storage capacity on the Humber due to rising demand for its products.
The two-phase project, by J Wharton (Shipping) Ltd, involves building a storage shed and erecting a canopy over the current external storage area to increase capacity to 12,000m2. It means regular deliveries from SCA‘s seven sawmills will be moved straight from ship to covered storage.
The work, to be completed in March, is expected to improve handling of both SCA’s agency timber in transit and its landed pick-a-pack stock.
