More than 40 government ministers responsible for forests in Europe will descend on Vienna for the “Living Forest Summit”.
The April 28-30 event, the fourth Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe, will make decisions about the future protection and sustainable management of forests in Europe.
Key issues to be discussed include climate change, threats to forest biodiversity, economic viability, law enforcement and good governance.
International organisations such as Greenpeace, WWF and the United Nations Development Programme will attend as observers, along with non-European countries such as the US, Canada and Malaysia.
