Weyerhaeuser‘s Saskatchewan forestlands totalling 4.9 million ha have been certified to the Canadian Standards Association‘s sustainable forest management standard.

The certification, which covers the Prince Albert and Pasquia Porcupine Forest Management Areas, follows an independent audit by the Quality Management Institute.

It also follows the 2001 certification of the forestlands to the ISO 14001 standard of environmental management systems.

So far, 10.3 million ha of forest that Weyerhaeuser manages in Canada and the US have been certified to internationally-recognised standards of sustainable forest management.
