Bowater Incorporated says 471,000 acres of its timberlands in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee are now certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) standard.
An audit, carried out by KPMG Performance Registrar Inc, confirmed that Bowater’s timberlands meet SFI requirements for forest management and wood purchasing in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner.
