The Republic of Ireland’s Galtee Group of Companies is setting up its first pressing line facility in the UK.
The business, presspanels ltd, will operate from Bilton Road industrial estate at Hitchen, Hertfordshire.
UK representative Ralph Cutler said presspanels will focus on service, offering a 72 hour nationwide delivey, and will concentrate more on the “specials” market.
He added: “We will also be offering the pressing of boards on a “free issue” basis which will enable our customers to retain the benefits of volume related rebates from MDF producers.”
A major benefit, says Mr Cutler, is that customers will be invoiced in sterling. “The euro has proved to be very volatile in recent months and we can now offer the security of the sterling net.”
Mr Cutler said that on a double shift the capacity of the pressing line will be “20 artic loads”.
