A speaker from the office of the deputy prime minister is scheduled to open Timber 2003, a new event for the timber trade to be staged by Chiltern Group.
The first event will be held at the City Conference Centre on April 1 and it will be repeated at the Hilton Hydro Hotel in Dunblane on April 9.
The programme will cover issues including CE Marking, European standards and the environment, product development and drivers for change in the construction industry.
There will be speakers from TRADA Technology, BM TRADA Certification, the Timber Trade Federation and the Wood Panel Industries Federation who will give insights into key issues affecting the timber and wood based panels industry.
A speaker from ISOWOOL, the brand name for British Gypsum-Isover Ltd will discuss how CE marking has affected the insulated building products sector.
