Demand for fully finished timber windows is benefiting Premdor which has installed factory finishing equipment at its Hedingham factory, Essex.
Coatings manufacturer Becker Acroma specified spray booths and overhead conveyor drying ovens, supplied and installed by Airflow Engineering Company, in a “significant” investment for Premdor. Airmix application equipment was supplied by Becker’s regional distribution company Syntema East.
Becker also specified its full range of Laqvin high performance waterborne exterior joinery coatings, developed in Sweden to withstand harsh climatic conditions, for the finishing line. The coatings are formulated with resins which breathe and flex with the timber to reduce cracking and blistering.
Following extensive trials, Premdor is using a system consisting of white primer (ED1422:9002) and white top coat (EG1598:90013).
