Companies from across the Scottish forestry and timber industries will be exhibiting their products at the second Scottish WOODfair in Perth.

The May 9-10 event is designed to promote wood’s availability, uses, versatility and beauty. Products to be displayed will include house frames, panelboards, garden sheds and fencing made of softwoods such as pine, spruce, larch and fir, while fine furniture and flooring also on show will be in the native hardwoods of oak, ash, elm and birch.

Perth & Kinross Council is organising this year’s event on behalf of a partnership of organisations including the Forestry Commission, Angus Council, Scottish Enterprise Tayside and the Scottish Forest Industries Cluster.

Last year’s WOODfair was held as part of Treefest Scotland 2002 and attracted more than 5,000 visitors.

Companies interested in booking exhibitor space at the Dewar’s Centre can contact Maureen Wright at Perth & Kinross on 01738 477952.
